Riding Time

Lexi had a doctor's appointment this morning so we were out at my parents' this afternoon. My little cowboy (cowboy boots and all) wanted to go out and ride. So Dad went out and saddled up Shiloh for him. He sure did have a good time. Lexi is a pro at riding, but little Scooter hasn't got much riding time in...until today. (I even got some good riding in, too!)

I freakin' love my sister

I just have to say really quick...I love my sister. There is no one in the world that I laugh harder with. I can be having the worst day and we can get going about something really stupid and laugh until we nearly pee our pants. We work together, which means we both have our "chat" boxes open all day long on our computers. We message back and forth with the most pointless, stupid things that get us laughing so hard when in fact we should be working. Even just a simple keyword like "tinfoil" or "hee haw" will make us have to pause what we are doing for a quick "LOL." It sure does keep my days (as well as my late nights and early mornings) interesting and fun. Who would ever know my best friend now would be the sister who I fought with like cats and dogs all through high school.

Case in point...this is the day we ran out of gas together. Oh the good times!

Close call

So today Lexi comes up to me and hands me the Flintstone vitamins and asks me to open them up. She didn't take her vitamins this morning so I went to open them to give her one. I smell her breath and it smells REALLY good and she has some white chalky kind of stuff in the corner of her mouth. I asked her what she was eating and she says, "My other medicine, you know...the yummy one." The other medicine they take is fluoride. They both LOVE IT!!!! Bracken will bring me the bottle shaking it and when he can't have more, he throws himself to the floor in a HUGE tantrum. The lid must not have got turned all the way and Lexi helped herself to "a lot" of pills. When I asked her how much a lot is, she shrugged and held up 5 fingers. I didn't know whether to believe that or not so I checked the pill bottle. Well the pills are teeny tiny and there are still quite a few in there. But I don't know exactly how much, so...I call poison control and talk to them about it. Apparently it is not dangerous until she takes 400 PILLS. Since I know it only started at 200 in the bottle and we use three a day (2 for Lexi and 1 for Bracken) and there are still some in there...I know I am safe. Relieved and safe! They told me to have her drink a half a cup of milk and that she may get a belly ache, but she would be okay.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Even medicine with childproof caps doesn't belong in the toothbrush drawer. Apparently they are not fool proof. The meidicine has since been moved to higher levels.

My Son!!!

My little guy is probably the funniest thing I have ever met. He loves baseball and he is a little cowboy!!! Funy that he is only 18 months old and has already picked the things he likes. He will sit down and watch innings of baseball. He wouldn't even watch kid shows, but will sit on your lap and watch baseball. Not that I am complaining, I have ALWAYS loved baseball. I am a huge Yankees fan and I am glad I have a little guy that wants to be a part of it. As for the cowboy thing...it is only to be expected considering my family. He is infatuated with horses and cows, however he thinks all cows are "bulls." He will wake up from his nap and look out his window at the horses. You can tell when he is awake because over the monitor you hear "horsey, horsey, horsey." The other day he was eating breakfast and he had thrown his bowl and I couldn't find it. I said "Bracken, where is your bowl." He points out the back window at the cows and says, "bull." He seriously cracks me up. If you tell him to go get his shoes, he comes back with his cowboy boots. Everytime I look at him he has gone and put his boots on. He is seriously the funniest little thing. I love him so much!

Dream Vacation

--Man could I really use just sitting on this beach, with nothing but silence around me (and best of all...no computer or phones!)

I know a lot of you have done this post already. I won't tag anyone specifically, but it is definitely a fun post and I would love to see as many of you do it as possible. They are always fun to look at.

SOCCER BEGINS!!!!

This is Lexi's first year of soccer and we are so excited. There are four little girls on her team and they play 3 on 3 (which is probably for the best, since they all crowd the ball anyway). They are the Ladybugs and they sure are cute. Their uniforms weren't really made for petite 4 year old girls, but for 10 year old boys I swear, but they are cute anyway. This is their first game and they are still learning the rules, but like I said...they look so cute, does anything else matter? She is number 4, which she thinks is cool because that is how old she is. Her First Game What a cute little soccer player. Lexi and her cousing Tyeson

Fun with Friends

A few weeks ago my friend Marissa got married, which made a good excuse to spend two days with my friends from high school. I miss them all so much. We don't get together nearly as often as we used to. (That needs to change, girls!) We have so much fun when we get together. I swear we revert back to teenagers when you put us all in one room. We had so much fun talking and laughing and best of all RACING!!! (Thanks Marissa and Ish, that was a blast!) I have known many of these girls for 14 years. We've picked a few more up over the years. We sure had some fun times!

My Daring Little Guy

Okay, so I never believed that as little kids girls and boys could be SO different. Bracken is not afraid of anything. My sister-in-law says he will be a stunt man some day because he is falls off of things daily, yet he still climbs back to the top of things. It is an often occurence when I will walk up the stairs and find him standing in the center of the kitchen counter...usually in his cowboy boots. I can't get those things off of him these days. He is definitely a little monkey. Here are a few examples...

He is definitely a joy in my life. I saw a shirt on a kid at McDonald's the other day that said, "MY PARENTS ARE EXHAUSTED." That would explain my little Bracken. He is hilarious and funny as can be, but he is definitely a lot of work. We sure do love him!

Lexi's First Day of School

Okay, so I know I am a few weeks late, but life has been busy.

Lexi started her first day of Preschool a few weeks ago. This is her second year of preschool, but she is at a new school this year. She has so much fun and loves going to school.

She got to walk to school with Tye and Wyatt, which she thinks that is very cool. They are so funny to watch. They ran the whole way.

She loves her new classrom and her new teachers. She is having so much fun at school this year.

What a Happy Sunday!!!!!

I have many posts to be coming here just as soon as I get my memory card back. So much has happened and life has been so busy. So many things to blog, so little time to do it in!!!!

Anyway, yesterday morning I woke up around 6 am with a pain in my left lower back. I was hoping that it was just a little kink, so I rolled over hoping it would be relieved. It didn't. I lay there thinking that it can't be what I think it is. I laid there for a few more minutes as the pain got worse. I got up, went to the bathroom, hoping it would go away, but within a few minutes I knew my worst fear had come true...IT WAS ANOTHER KIDNEY STONE!!! Now, to those of you who haven't had a kidney stone and wonder what they feel like. Imagine the worse pain you have ever felt in your life, times it by 100, and that is what a kidney stone feels like. Then add to that violent vomiting. (I actually told Adam and the doctor several times, "I just want to die!") So I woke Adam up, told Adam what was going on. He said, "What do you want to do?" I said, "GO TO THE HOSPITAL." When I was pregnant with Lexi I had four kidney stones within six weeks. I am no stranger to the game or in Adam's words "It ain't this cowboys first rodeo." The half hour drive to the hospital may as well have been 10 hours. I nearly kicked the windshield out as I was writhing in pain. I got to the hospital and a close friend of my parent's was my nurse, which was a comfort. From the time I felt the pain until they got my knocked out with drugs was probably about 1 hour and 15 minutes of TOTAL HELL!!! Well maybe that is a bit dramatic, but you get the picture. They say that dehydration can cause them, and anyone who knows me knows that I could go weeks without drinking anything. I guess I will have to work on that more. Anyway, I slept at the hospital for a few hours, got home later that morning, slept the entire day. Went back to bed that night, woke up this morning feeling back to my usual self. If you are looking for the silver lining, it couldn't have happened on a better day. Adam was home. I didn't have to work. I had no responsibilities to worry about. And back to a fun work week today. The only effects I have left are sore veins in my left hand where they pumped me full of fluids and pain medication. Again...what a fun Sunday!
