Memories...

I got this from Stephanie and I thought it was fun...play along if you want to!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Back to my roots...

Well, we just got back from a short 3-day trip to Montana to visit my family. My grandpa owns a large ranch up there and we don't get up often enough to see them. We had a good time. Nothing too exciting, just a lot of sitting, visiting, and cook outs. We took the kids' pictures and our family picture while we were up there. It is a place I have visited since I was born and has a lot of sentimental value. Here is just a few of those pictures.

Aren't they sweet?

While they were changing my flat tire, Bracken got into the tail pipe of my uncle's truck. WHAT A MESS!!!!

6 Random Things About Me...

My dear friend Candace "tagged" me with 6 random things about myself. I have been thinking hard all night long about this one, so here it goes.

1. I LOVE to sing in the car while I am driving. I don't sing in front of anyone, I'm just not that good at it. But when I get in the car, I turn into the best singer ever. My poor kids!!!

2. I love baseball and I always have. I love to play it, I love to watch it (live or on TV). I have been to several MLB games (not enough though). I am a huge Yankees fan, which causes a slight rift in our family because Adam is a die-hard Mets fan (bitter enemies). It sure does make series with the Yankess and Mets a fun week though. Little Bracken also loves baseball. The kid won't watch any kid shows, but he will sit on my lap and watch multiple innings of baseball without moving. He has got quite an arm, watch out Derek Jeter...here comes Bracken Vogel.

3. I drive a full size 4 door GMC pickup and I LOVE IT!!! It has got a 6 inch lift on it (which gets interesting at times considering I am all of 5 feet tall). I don't think I could ever part with it. It is the absolute opposite of a "mom car" and maybe that is what I love about it. After a year I am finally getting better at parking it (but don't be surprised when you see me parked at the very back of parking lots...that thing won't turn worth anything!)

4. Right now I do medical transcription from home. I have nearly all of my nursing prerequisites, but I am not sure I can stomach nursing. It is something I have wanted to do my ENTIRE life. I even have a poster I made for preschool that said that is what I wanted to do when I grow up. Bracken has 4 years left before he started Kindergarten, so I guess in the meantime I can decide. I would really love to go into nursing someday though.

5. I want to be a runner! I have been slowly but surely getting started with this. My knees are not that great, but we will see how they hold up. I did the 3K walk for the Fourth of July this year and my goal next year is to do the 5K run.

6. And last, but CERTAINLY not least...I love sweets!!!! I could live 100% on sugar and candy. I love it all. Candy bars, pastries, cake, ice cream, pie, anything...I am not picky. I wish it was the one thing that I could just turn and walk away from. It certainly opens my eyes to realize that I would hate to have an addiction to the "hard" stuff, because there is no way I can break this addiction and I have tried (and failed multiple times).

My Poor Little Girl

So when I first moved out here I thought the mosquito thing was a joke. For the 4th of July all of the things mentioned to "bring your bug spray" etc. My mom and I did the 3K walk and the T-shirt they gave you had a picture of people running from mosquitos. I also bought Lexi a T-shirt that one of the local kids drew with a picture of mosquito on it. Well, little Lexi woke up yesterday with two huge mosquito bites right next to her eye. She is really sensitive to them and they are bad when she gets them. Her whole eye was nearly closed when she woke up. It is starting to go down, but I thought it would be funny to take a picture of her with you her mosquito shirt on, just to prove that the mosquitos are REALLY bad out here. (If you see the small red dot on her cheek, that is a mosquito bite from 2 weeks ago that is still healing!!!)

Our New House

Like I said, we moved from Clearfield (after 5 happy years) to a new house in Plain City. It was a scary move for me as I don't move around very often (I only moved once in all of my childhood). It has a been a long and weird adjustment, but hopefully this place will feel like home soon. It is so nice to be close to my sister, Carli, and her family, though. Lexi and Tye play with each other all the time and will be able to go to school together in the fall. Plain City is only about 25 minutes north of Clearfield/Layton, but it seems like a long trip to make. So for all of you Davis County residents who may not make it our here very soon, here is what our house looks like from the outside.

We found this house when it was nearly finished. The only think we got to pick out was the color for the deck in the back and the vinyl railing. But the people who picked out colors did an AWESOME job!!! It is everything I love. I don't think I could have picked it out and loved it any more. One of my favorite parts about my house is the kitchen and dining room area. It is so open. I fell in love with it right away.

Lexi still misses our neighbors. She is finally admitting she likes it now. She used to say, "I like our OLD house better."

We miss all of our old friends and think of you often. Come and visit anytime you want!!! We would love to see you.

Getting carried away!!!

Well I just sat down to work and now over two hours later I am done looking through blogs and finding people I don't see that often. You could spend all day on this thing and never find the end. I have so many pictures from things we are doing. I need to get them all loaded on my computer and share them with you all, which I plan to do real soon. Keep your eyes out for them.

Our Family

Well I have been wanting to do this for a long time. My family has a "family wide" blog, but I wanted to get my own. Marissa inspired me last week and then Megan really kicked it in today at a BBQ. She got me extra excited to get started, so here we go...

This is my family. Lexi just turned 4 and Bracken is almost 18 months old. This picture is really old. We are getting new family pictures next week. So much new has happened in our life. We moved from Clearfield to Plain City a few months ago. Life is fun, but busy. I plan on figuring this blogging thing out real soon and updating some more things. This will be it for now, until I have spend more time on it.
